ELDON, IOWA -- A Heartland woman and her two adult sons were arrested Wednesday for alleged crimes against children.

The three Eldon, Iowa residents are charged in connection with a sexual abuse case involving three young girls.

Lucinda Hopwood, 58, is charged with one count of child endangerment. Her son, Mark Hopwood, 23, is charged with one count of 2nd-degree sexual abuse.

Lucinda's other son, Jerme Hopwood, 32, is charged with five counts of sexual abuse and one count of indecent contact with a minor.

The arrests were made after a monthlong investigation by the Eldon Police Department.

Eldon Police Chief Kris Metcalf told KTVO that the three victims are all under the age of 12.

The girls are relatives of the Hopwoods.

The children are now in the care of their respective mothers.

Mark Hopwood is being held in Wapello County Jail with bond set at $45,000.

Lucinda and Jerme Hopwood were released on bail.
