Sexual predator to remain in custody

SCOTLAND COUNTY, MO. -- A Scotland County jury has found a northeast Missouri man to be a sexually violent predator.

Brian Craig, 35, formerly of Kirksville, was ordered committed to the sex offender rehabilitation center in Farmington, Missouri.

Craig had just finished serving a 7-year sentence for molesting a 10-year-old girl back in 2004.

The attorney general's office presented evidence at trial that Craig had sexually assaulted three other children ages 12 to 24 and three young women ages 17 to 26 in Adair County.

Craig also had previously served a 3-year sentence in 1994 for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in Iowa.

Craig will now be in the custody of the Missouri Department of Mental Health.
