QUEEN CITY, MO. -- UPDATE: The Missouri State Highway Patrol is reporting that Joann Vice, 37, of Greentop, Mo., has passed away after being involved in an accident around 9:25 a.m. Monday at the intersection of U.S. 63 and Highway W in Queen City. Vice was riding in a pickup truck. The Patrol said she was not wearing a seatbelt.

The Patrol's initial investigation indicates that the pickup, driven by Terry Anders, 38, of Greentop, was traveling eastbound on Highway W when it failed to stop and drove into the side of a semi, traveling northbound on U.S. 63. Anders suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Northeast Regional Medical Center.

Authorities say the driver of the semi, William Davis, 57 of Macon, Mo., was not injured.

Along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Schuyler County Ambulance, Schuyler County Sheriff's Office, Queen City Fire Department and the Greentop Fire Department all assisted on the scene.

UPDATE: The Missouri State Highway Patrol still hasn't released its accident report or the names of the people involved.

According to a family member, the two people inside the pickup truck were leaving Queen City coming from the west on Route W. When they approached US 63, the driver looked both ways and did not see any oncoming traffic so he proceeded onto 63, and that's when his truck was hit by the semi.

The passenger of the truck was rushed to the hospital, and according to the family member, that person died from internal injuries.

As for the driver, family members said he suffered minor injuries and is expected to be ok.

It's still unclear if the driver of the semi sustained any injuries.
