Two Kahoka teens involved in 4-wheeler accident

WAYLAND, MO. -- Two people are involved in a 4-wheeler accident on New Year's Eve in Clark County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, on County Road 177, about eight miles north of Wayland, a 2009 Honda 4- wheeler driven by Trevor Shaffer, 17, of Kahoka and also occupied by Katherine Plenge, 18, of Kahoka, was traveling southbound when it ran off the left side of the road and struck a ditch. Both riders were ejected.

Shaffer was flown by AirEvac to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill. with serious injuries. Plenge was transported by Clark County Ambulance to Keokuk Hospital in Keokuk, Iowa.
