Macon County head-on collision sends three to the hospital

ATLANTA, MO. -- A head-on collision sends three people to the hospital.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, around 1:40 a.m. Sunday morning, two miles southwest of Atlanta, two vehicles crashed into each other as they met at a hill crest on Jupiter avenue.

The first vehicle was driven by Brady Bogeart, 18, of Atlanta, Mo. The second vehicle was driven by Leon Shears, 37, of Macon, Mo. Brenda Shears, 40,  of Macon, was also riding in the second vehicle. Both Leon and Brenda Shears were transported to Samaritan Hospital in Macon. Brenda experienced moderate injuries while Leon had minor injuries. Both were wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the first vehicle was flown to Moberly Regional Hospital with moderate injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
