MEMPHIS, MO. -- One woman was taken to the hospital after a four vehicle crash four miles east of Memphis, Mo.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, around 4:40 p.m., Christmas evening, Stacie Holt, 40, was stopped in the westbound lane at the intersection of US 136 and Rte U, waiting to turn left. A Ford pickup, driven by Viola Walls, 46, came up  behind Holt and swerved to avoid hitting her. That's when the Patrol said Walls' pickup crashed into a Toyota, traveling in the eastbound lane, driven by Elvin House, 67, of Hagerstown, MD.   After crashing into the Toyota, the crash reports indicates Walls' pickup then hit Holt in her Subaru, still waiting to turn left.

After all of this happened, another vehicle, driven by Genna Adkins, 19, approached the the accident in the westbound lane and swerved to avoid it.  She ended up driving off the road and striking a ditch.

Viola Walls, of Memphis, Mo. was taken to the Scotland County Hospital with minor injuries. She was wearing a seatbelt.
