KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- On Christmas Eve, lots of people were out shopping, searching every aisle, looking for the perfect gift.
KTVO headed over to J.C. Penney. Workers said there was a huge rush of customers during the afternoon hours, keeping the registers busy. Store Manager Janet Gremaud said she thinks more people waited until the day before Christmas to finish their shopping, since this year, there was an extra Saturday to shop. She shared with us some of the gifts people were looking for.
"Men are always coming in on Christmas Eve and they, in particular, are probably looking for jewelry," said Janet Gremaud. "That's always a good bet. You can't go wrong with that. So, we have a lot of people shopping our jewelry counters and then just looking for last minute stocking stuffers. Some of the basics they like to stick in. Socks are always popular, gloves, hats, scarves."
J.C. Penny will be closed on Christmas and re-open on Monday. Dec. 26 at 6 a.m. Gremaud said they will have lots of door busters and markdowns.
