Tyler Treece, 18
KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A Knox County teen facing charges in connection with a Thanksgiving weekend shooting has entered a plea of not guilty in Adair County Circuit Court.
Tyler Treece, 18, of Edina is charged with First-degree assault, shooting at a motor vehicle, armed criminal action, second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
According to Kirksville Police, the incident happened the day after Thanksgiving at a Kirksville residence.
The 14-year-old victim was shot in the chest in the incident and is still recovering.
Police say Treece told them at the scene he didn't think the gun was loaded when he pointed it at the victim.
At his arraignment Tuesday, Treece also requested a bond reduction. That request was denied.
He remains behind bars on $250,000 cash-only bond.
The case has been set for trial beginning May 17th in Adair County Circuit Court.
