MACON, MO. -- A registered sex offender from northeast Missouri is now in trouble for drugs.

Macon police, along with officers from the North Missouri Drug Task Force and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, seized a large amount of marijuana during a drug raid in Macon Thursday night.

Arrested was Abraham Fontanez, 48, of Macon.

Fontanez faces charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The charges stem from a search Fontanez's home in the 300 block of Jefferson Street in Macon.

In addition to the pot, officers also seized items known to be used in the packaging, manufacture and distribution of marijuana.

As of Friday night, Fontanez was being held without bond.

We've learned Fontanez was convicted of raping of an 11-year-old girl in Kansas City, Missouri back in 1994.
