DAVENPORT, IOWA -- Adam Douglas Stuart, 31, of Ottumwa, Iowa, was sentenced on Monday to 65 months imprisonment in connection with federal charges of felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, announced United States Attorney Nicholas A. Klinefeldt.
Chief United States District Judge James E. Gritzner also ordered Stuart to serve 2 years supervised release following imprisonment and pay $100 to the Crime Victim’s Fund.
On April 12, 2011, following a call to Davenport police of a disturbance, police detained Stuart and found him in possession of a Colt .22 caliber pistol and .22 caliber ammunition.
Stuart was barred from possessing the gun and ammunition, having been convicted in Iowa state courts of the following felony crimes: Burglary 3rd, 2001, sentenced to five years imprisonment (sentence suspended); OWI 3rd, 2003, sentenced to five years imprisonment (sentence suspended); OWI 3rd, 2007, sentenced to five years imprisonment (sentence suspended); Burglary 3rd, 2007, sentenced to five years imprisonment (sentence suspended); and, Receiving, Transporting or Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, 2007, sentenced to five years imprisonment (sentence suspended).
This case was investigated by the Davenport, Iowa, Police Department, and was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
