NEAR UNIONVILLE, MO. -- A Grundy County woman and her daughter are involved in a serious crash early Sunday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Melanie Goddard, 31, of Galt, Mo., was driving northbound on Route 5, near Unionville, when her van traveled off the right side of the road. Authorities say Goddard tried to get the van back onto the roadway and then drove off the left side. Once her vehicle returned to the road, it started to overturn several times.
Meanwhile, her daughter, Milynda Goddard, 8, was secured in a car seat inside of the van. When the van started to overturn, Milynda and her car seat were ejected.
The mother was transported to Putnam County Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries. Her daughter was flown to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
