It's part of a tour that includes all 99 counties. Reynolds also visited the John Deere factory in Ottumwa.

Reynolds said the legislature has lowered tax and regulatory burdens for businesses and restructured the Economic Development Department.

"We put in place a three tier economic development package where we have the Iowa Partnership for Economic Progress, the authority, and then the Innovation Council. We believe that this is the way that will really stem and be the engine for job growth in the state of Iowa."

Reynolds also said the top priority in the next legislative session will be to work on reducing the commercial property tax rate.
