KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The Kirksville Salvation Army is reeling in the donations.

Major Elmer Trapp is reporting that more than $11,000 has been raised towards their goal of $85,000, which the Salvation Army would like to collect before the end of their donation campaign, which ends Dec. 31.  The money raised will be used for Christmas and services that the Salvation Army provides in 2012. Also, Trapp said they are still in need of more volunteers.

The Salvation Army is also asking people to adopt a family for the holidays. In 2011, they have had 100 families sign up for Christmas assistance. They said the families are in need of turkeys, new toys, and canned food.

If you'd like to volunteer or adopt a family, call 660-665-7885.
