KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The Adair County YMCA held its annual Turkey Trot Saturday morning.

About 75 runners braved the rain to participate in the 5k run/walk around Kirksville. All of the proceeds will benefit the United Way of Adair County.

"We want to support the United Way because they so graciously support us and 14 other organizations and during their campaign," said Brittni Garver, the YMCA Program Director. "We like to support them too."

Garver said the 2011 Turkey Trot had an excellent turnout because 30 more runners than the previous year decided to participate in the annual event.

First, second, and third place runners took home a medal. On Dec. 1,  the YMCA will release it's spring programming brochure and start it's youth basketball signups.
