KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The Adair County SB40 Developmental Disability Board announced Tuesday they have awarded a grant in the amount of $11,110 to the Chariton Valley Association, a non-profit agency supporting persons with developmental disabilities in Adair County.

The SB40 funds, along with matching funds from CVA, will be used to leverage additional governmental funding for the purchase and installation of an overhead lift system in a group home operated by CVA. A similar lift system was recently installed at CVA's residential center, resulting in increased safety and comfort for the individuals as well as a reduction of the risk of employee injuries for those using the overhead lift.

Terry Combs, Executive Director of Chariton Valley Association, accepted the check from the ACSDD Board at their meeting on November 8.
