KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A Kirksville man is facing an assault charge after police were called to a home in the 500 block of South First Street late Wednesday afternoon.

Lajuan Williams, 17, is charged with 2nd-degree domestic assault - first offense.

In court documents, police allege that Williams hit a female victim repeatedly in the arms, chest and back, leaving bruises.

Williams told officers he did hit the victim in the arm, but he claims he was just playing.

He said the whole incident got blown out of proportion.

Police took Williams into custody, and he was later charged.
