FAIRFIELD, IOWA -- Another presidential candidate stops in the heartland on Wednesday.
Former Pennsylvania senator and Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum stopped in Fairfield, Iowa for a meet-and-greet. More than 30 people attended to ask questions ranging from the Federal Reserve to faith. Santorum talked about education and how parents need to be more involved in their student's lessons.
“Parents should have the opportunity to give their children a well-rounded education and as best as what parents think that they need,” Santorum said.
Santorum also made stops in Sigourney and Keosauqua on Wednesday. Santorum's campaign says he's visited 96 out of the 99 counties in the state of Iowa and hopes to visit all of them by next week.
“We’ve done almost 200 town hall meetings where people have had the opportunity to make that assessment and we feel very good. I can tell you here in Fairfield we got a lot of people walking out of here having volunteered for our campaign.”
