KHS Band competes in festival

KIRKSVILLE,MO -- The Kirksville High School Band's Color Guard competed in the Missouri Days Marching Festival in Trenton, Missouri on Saturday, October 14.  The band competed in parade, field shows, drumline, and color guard and had a very successful day. 

Color Guard Received a 2nd place trophy  with their performance of Gravity which was choreographed by Shantay Guyton.  They tied in points with Smithville and missed 1st place Oak Grove by 2 points. 

Shantay Guyton is the Color Guard Instructor and a senior Master of Arts in Education student at Truman State University.  She will graduate in May in search of a music teaching position.

The Kirksville High School Marching Band is under the Direction of Brad Hudson.  The Assistant Director is Karen Harrison.  The Percussion Instructor is Paul Hadwiger and the Color Guard Instructor is Shantay Guyton.
