Pedestrian struck by truck

KIRKSVILLE, MISSOURI -- A Kirksville man is hurt in a truck-pedestrian mishap in Kirksville. 

The accident happened just after noon Tuesday on South Baltimore Street. 

Kirksville police tell KTVO, John Lechner, 63, of Kirksville was hit while crossing the street, by a pickup driven by Robert Shobe, 69, of Hurdland. 

Shobe told police he was waiting to turn left out of a restaurant parking lot, when the driver of a southbound vehicle motioned for him to pull out. Shobe said he pulled out into the center lane when he struck Lechner who was crossing the street. 

Lechner was taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment of disabling injuries. He is listed in good condition.
