BLOOMFIELD, IOWA -- A former southeast Iowa teacher has pleaded not guilty to charges he had a sexual relationship with a fourteen-year old student.
According to online court records, Ryan Grinstead's attorney filed a written not guilty plea in Davis County court Monday morning.
The plea covers charges of sexual abuse in the third degree, sexual exploitation by a school employee and lascivious conduct with a minor.
Grinstead was arrested on October 17 after Bloomfield police accused him of having an on-going sexual relationship with a freshman at Davis County High School during the 2008 school year.
Grinstead was a math teacher in the district at the time.
He has also pleaded not guilty to another charged of sexual exploitation by a school employee.
He was arrested in September after police accused him of having a sexual relationship with an 18 year old student at the school.
Grinstead is due to be arraigned on that charge on November 2.
