LEWISTOWN, MISSOURI -- A young Heartland woman dies in a head-on collision.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jordan Smith, 22, of LaGrange, Mo., was driving westbound on Missouri Route 6, two miles east of Lewistown around 3 a.m. Saturday, when her vehicle crossed the center line and struck a truck head-on.
Smith was pronounced dead at the scene by Lewis County Coroner Larry Arnold.
The driver of the truck, Richard Chockley, 57, of Plymouth, Ill., had minor injuries and was transported to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
