AMES, IOWA (AP) --
Women are making gains in faculty positions in the science, technology, engineering and math at Iowa State University but men still dominate the fields.
2011 data from a nationally funded project shows the total percentage of women with a faculty position at ISU has increased in 19 departments in the fields known at STEM.
The five-year project, which began in 2006, is aimed at increasing the number of women in faculty and leadership positions.
At ISU, men dominate a higher percentage of full-faculty positions than women in all but one out of 30 STEM field departments.
In eight departments, women hold zero percent of the full-faculty positions.
