KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- For our Facebook Story of The Day, you wanted to know about electronic books at Heartland libraries.

At The Adair County Public Library in Kirksville, they’ve been using an electronic service system named “Overdrive” for the past year.

It’s all part of the “Missouri Libraries to Go” program that has spread to 30 libraries across the state and continues to grow.

With the program, readers can download e-books and audio books in all categories.

Overdrive is a very simple program to download and you can use it on all electronic devices like smartphones, e-readers, and soon kindle.

Adair County Public Library librarian Kara Drury says the system has received positive feedback.

“The kind of reception we've been getting has been extremely popular. People love using this. I've had maybe three people that have had problems with it in the past year, which I think is pretty impressive.” Drury said. “If you need any help with it or any kind of questions, you can call the library or come in and talk to me. We love the service.”

To get the program, you need a library card. If you don’t have one, you can apply at the Adair County Public Library. The card is free for Adair County residents.
