Heartland nun renews her vows

KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A Heartland area church celebrated a major milestone for one of its members.

Sister Ruth Ann Kaluser renewed her vows today during Sunday mass at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Kirksville.

Sister Kaluser was one of five nuns part of Sister School of Notre Dame from Quincy, IL that took part in the ceremony.

Sister Kaluser renewed after forty five years of service. Over that time she has been a teacher and school administrator all over Missouri and Illinois such as Holy Family in Hannibal, St. Brendan in Mexico, St. Louis Parish in Chicago, and Cathedral Parish in Belleville.
    
Former students and staff from these parishes and schools came into town to witness the event.

She is currently the principal of Mary Immaculate Catholic School in Kirksville.

After renewing her vows, she presented with a plaque and book filled with letters from people whose lives have been touched by her.
