KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The Airport and Transportation Commission met at City Hall to discuss a '5 Year Street Improvement Plan'.

The project will be paid for by the Tif Fund not from the Transportation Sales Tax.

Projects include the renovation of Franklin Street from Jefferson Street south to Patterson Street. Another project in the plan is to rebuild Elson Street from Elizabeth Street north to Potter Street. They also want to work on Mills Street in the vicinity of the Aquatic Center.

The main emphasis starting out will be continued maintenance of existing streets. The plan calls for the majority of the resources to be spent on asphalt and concrete repair as well as curb, gutter and drainage repairs on existing streets.

The Commission will know a little more as it gets into the budgeting process.
