OTTUMWA -- Qualified job-seekers look toward the job corps for new employment.

The jobs corps center hosted a job fair that runs from 10 a.m.- 8 p.m. Thursday and again starting at 10 a.m. Friday at the Indian Hills north campus.

More than 100 jobs are up for grabs.  A line formed outside the building before the job fair opened Thursday morning.  Almost 100 people filled out applications or turned in resumes by noon Thursday.

Mark Douglas, director of the Ottumwa job corps center, says it could take awhile before people start to hear back about an interview.

“Some people just need to be patient,” said Douglas.  “I know we’ve been contacted by a lot of folks that have said ‘you know I applied a couple weeks ago, a month ago.’  So we do have a priority list that we’re working through.  Once we get to the people that have applied for whatever position, but eventually we will get to them.”

Douglas hopes to have all the positions filled in by the end of September.
