KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Dozens of four-legged friends had a splash blast at Brashear Park  in Kirksville at the 6th annual Doggie Luau Saturday.

Sponsored by Pawsitive Animal Works, the last swim of the season at the wading pool goes to the canines.

Pet owners were asked to make a donation to the Adair County Humane Society, which was there to showcase pets available for adoption and share accomplishments from the last few years.

"The fact that we work with rescue groups from all over the country, trying to get our dogs into happy homes and also we're bragging about our March Prevent-a-litter campaign where last year we spayed and neutered 212 animals during the month of March, so we're kind of bragging about that but also making sure people see our animals,” said Bridget Thomas, Humane Society Board Member.

Thomas says all the dogs got along great and enjoyed going for a dip in the pool.
