QUEEN CITY, MO. -- A northeast Missouri teenager is officially considered a missing person.

The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office told KTVO Thursday evening that Cheryl Mourton, 13, of Queen City is believed to be with her stepfather, Kenneth Kramer of rural Brashear.

The two were last seen in Iowa last Friday, August 12.

They were last heard from via phone on Monday, August 15.

Schuyler County Deputy Chuck Tallman said Cheryl’s mother, Lacey Kramer of Queen City, had taken Cheryl to Kenneth Kramer’s home outside Brashear late last week so he could take her to Iowa to buy school supplies over the weekend.

Tallman told KTVO Kramer did not return Cheryl when he was supposed to on Sunday evening, so her mother reported the girl missing on Monday morning.

After calls to a number of local law enforcement agencies, Lacey Kramer said she was finally able to get the Missouri State Highway Patrol to officially declare Cheryl a "missing person" late Wednesday afternoon.

The patrol then entered Cheryl's photograph and information into a nationwide system that is shared by law enforcement agencies across the country.

Kenneth Kramer and Cheryl were last seen last Friday at a Walmart store in Des Moines.

They were with Kenneth’s sister, and he reportedly told his sister that he and Cheryl were leaving the store to meet someone in the parking lot of Walmart.

Inside that Des Moines Walmart was the last time the two were seen.

Cheryl Mourton is 5’4” to 5’5” tall, weighing 125 pounds. She has blond hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who knows anything about the whereabouts of Mourton or her stepfather is asked to call the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office in Lancaster at (660) 457-3436.
