Passenger killed in 10-15 Transit accident

OTTUMWA, IA -- Nusreta Hidanovic, 40, Ottumwa was killed on Thursday when a pick-up truck collided with the 10-15 Transit Van she was riding in.

Hidanovic was returning from a Des Moines hospital in a 10-15 Transit van when the van was struck at the intersection of University Ave and 60th Street in Pleasant Hill by a Dodge Ram driven by Danny Dawley.

Dawley and the driver of the Transit van, William Patrick Denny, 58 of Hedrick, were transported by ambulance to Des Moines Hospitals.

The accident is being investigated by Pleasant Hill Police and the Polk County Sheriff's Department.

Ottumwa Transit Authority Director Mark Hagist tells KTVO that everyone at OTA is upset by the collision and the death of Hidanovic.

Reese Funeral Home in Ottumwa is handling the arrangements for Hidanovic.
