The Ottumwa Community School District could have a new boss by the end of this week.
The district office released an agenda for a special board meeting scheduled for Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
The agenda says the board will go into closed session to consider the candidates for district superintendent.
At approximately 9:15 p.m. the board is expected to return to an open session and take action on hiring a superintendent and set the new salary for the job.
On Tuesday the district announced three finalists for the opening, current Ottumwa Associate Superintendent Davis Eidahl, Denver based education consultant, Anne Lundquist and Alta Iowa administrator Fred Maharry.
