Jason Dean, 35, of Unionville, Mo. pleads guilty.
UNIONVILLE, MO. -- The former administrator of the Putnam County Ambulance District pleads guilty to stealing tens of thousand of dollars from that agency.
Jason Dean, 35, of Unionville entered his guilty plea Wednesday in Putnam County Circuit Court.
Dean was given a 10-year suspended sentence, placed on five years probation and ordered to spend 30 days of "shock time" in the Putnam County Jail at his expense.
Investigators said Dean stole more than $35,000 from the Putnam County Ambulance District over a period of five years.
Dean was fired as administrator of the ambulance service on June 1, 2010 after an audit report revealed misappropriation of funds.
Dean was later arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol after that agency did an extensive embezzlement investigation.
