KIRKSVILLE -- KTVO received a number of Facebook and telephone complaints about the severe weather procedures taken at the Adair County Library. We contacted the Library Director Glenda Hunt, and she advised us that after the 2009 tornado that ripped through parts of Kirksville, the Kirksville Fire Department decided that the library would only be able to shelter a maximum of four people under the sinks in the women's restroom during a severe weather threat. All other occupants should be evacuated to the Hy-Vee store to take shelter in the freezer area.
