KIRKSVILLE -- Ready for some streets to get some much needed improvements? Help is on the way!
On Monday, city council approved a number of agreements that will improve curbs, gutters, storm drains and concrete pavement repairs.
Those streets include Main from Normal to Jefferson; Florence from Patterson.
The city will be working with Mihalevich Concrete Construction from Kirksville on this project. The winning bid came to a total of $209,998.25
The city also entered into an agreement with W.L Miller Company, Inc. for the 2011 Asphalt Overlay and Surface Treatment Program.
Willis Brothers, Inc. will be working with the city on the 2011 Stormwater Improvements.
Public Works Director John Buckwalter said for the most part this construction will not interfere with the public.
"The only project that will interfere with the general public will be the work on Florence Street. We will probably work sequentially as we sit down with the constructor and they develop their schedule and we will keep the public posted," Buckwalter said.
The project will begin in a few weeks and should be completed by the end of October.
