Man hits tree on ATV

KNOX COUNTY, MO --
A Northeast Missouri man was seriously injured in an ATV crash in Knox County Saturday afternoon.

The Highway Patrol says Robert Painter, 58, of Kirksville was eastbound on Sever Lake Road three miles south of Hurdland when he lost control of the All Terrain Vehicle.
    
He left the road, hit a tree, and was thrown from the ATV.
   
Painter was taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment.
