BLOOMFIELD, IOWA -- Several artists gathered in Bloomfield, Iowa Sunday morning to paint, draw or interpret a piece of the square; and it was all done for charity.

The 2nd Annual Plein Air Event was sponsored by the Spectrum Center for the Arts.

The event had one goal and that was:

To create an opportunity for artists and fine crafters to share their unique talents, vision, and creative process with the general public.

In all, nine artists turned out for this year’s event. The artist chose different subjects throughout the square to replicate in their works of art. Some artists choose to paint or draw the Davis County Courthouse; others choose to interpret buildings along the square.

After the artists completed their works, the public was invited to participate in a silent auction. The proceeds from the auction benefit cultural events and scholarships for students throughout Davis County.
