Vandalism at Kirksville schools

KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Two Kirksville schools were broken into and vandalized on Friday night.

Kirksville police say the vandalism happened at Ray Miller Elementary School and the Kirksville Primary School sometime after 7:30 Friday evening. The damage was discovered Saturday morning.

A 10- year-old male and 12 -year- old female were found inside a room at Ray Miller Elementary School. The pair were arrested at the scene around 9 a.m. Saturday morning.

The two children are currently being held by juvenile authorities.

Police say the damage includes thousands of dollars to computers and SMART Boards.

The case is still under investigation. We will update you as more information becomes available.
