Van Buren man shot, arrested on the same day

KEOSAUQUA, IOWA -- Getting shot with a pellet gun was not the worst part of one Bonaparte man's Friday......getting arrested was.

The Van Buren County Sheriff's office says they arrested Aaron Travis Sisson, age 31 Friday morning on charges of domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.

Sisson was taken into custody at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua where he was being treated for a pellet gun wound to his abdomen.

Sisson was apparently shot with the pellet gun by a juvenile during the assault.

He is currently being held in the Van buren County Jail awaiting arraignment.

Additional charges may filed in the case.
