KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The jury trial of a Kirksville man accused of child molestation has been delayed.

Danny Barnes, 27, is charged with two counts of first-degree child molestation and one count of first-degree statutory sodomy.

The trial was supposed to start next Tuesday, but Adair County Prosecutor Matt Wilson says it has been delayed do to a defense council request to have a depostion that was started be completed. Wilson says July 1st is the earliest that depostion can be completed and that a new trial date will be set in the near future.

All counts that Barnes is charged with are in connection with three alleged incidents involving the same girl; once when she was less than 12 years of age and twice when she was less than 14 years of age.

Online court records show Barnes is under a curfew from 7 pm to 7 am.
