Osky man charged with murder

OSKALOOSA, IOWA -- UPDATE - 6-21-2011 @ 2:15 P.M.

KTVO has learned that the suspect, Bradley William Arterburn, 25, has been released from the hospital and is now in police custody.

The Oskaloosa Police Department will now file the First Degree murder charges against Arterburn with the Mahaska County Attorney.


An Oskaloosa man has been charged with  the death of a Davenport man.

The Oskaloosa Police Department says it has filed First Degree murder charges against Bradley William Arterburn, 25.

Police responded to a call at 1106 North Fourth Street in Oskaloosa Sunday evening.

When they arrived they found 58-year old Robert Henry Horovitz of Davenport inside the residence suffering from multiple injuries.

Arterburn was found near the residence apparently suffering from self-inflicted wounds.

Police have not released information on the nature of the injuries or the type of weapon used.

Both men were transported to a local hospital, Mahaska Health Partnership.

Horovitz died in at the hospital, Aterburn was transferred to a Des Moines Hospital to be treated.

Aterburn will make his initial appearance in Mahaska County District Court, after he is released from the hospital.

First Degree Murder is a class A felony punishable by life in prison.
