ELDON, IOWA -- Sunday marked the end of the Wapello County Regional Fair.
Before the fan-favorite demolition derby Sunday evening, contestants competed in the Future Farmers of America Beef Show and the Open Steer and Heifer Show.
KTVO spoke with Emily Orman, a student at Iowa State University.
Orman brought her heifer to fair for the competition.
“My cow is a Heifer. I am using her as an FFA project. I just got done showing at the Iowa Angus Preview show yesterday. I will show her at the Iowa State Fair in August and after that she will go out into the heard at home. We will make sure she is bread so she will have a calf upcoming in the winter or spring,” said Orman.
Orman shared with us her love for raising cattle.
“I think farming is a fun thing to do and it is something I really enjoy. I am glad that I am in this and I wouldn’t trade it for the world,” said Orman
With this fair coming to a close, the Jefferson County Fair is just beginning. Monday is the first day of the fair. KTVO will be covering all the county fairs in southeast Iowa.
