PUTNAM COUNTY, MO. -- The Putnam County Prosecuting Attorney announced that the complaints that were filed against two members of the Putnam County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees are being referred to the Governor and the Attorney General. Tom Keedy made that announcement on Monday.
Affidavits were filed with the Putnam County Circuit Clerk alleging that the hospital trustees, Duane Crawford and Nettie Lewis, have neglected their official duties and violated certain Missouri laws. Those affidavits were filed on May 18th.
According to Keedy, Missouri law authorizes the Governor to direct that the Attorney General assist or handle such complaints.
"Because I have social and community relationships with virtually all of the people on both sides of the issue involving the administration of the Putnam County Hospital, I feel it would be in the best interest of the County, the hospital and all individuals concerned to have the matter reviewed by the Attorney General, who will then make a decision as to whether to proceed with efforts to remove the trustees from office", Keedy said.
