MACON, MISSOURI -- Missouri State Highway Patrol commanding officer of Troop B in Macon, Captain James E. Wilt, has announced that sometime during the month of May 2011, Troop B officers will be conducting a DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) saturation in Sullivan County.

Also, during the month of June 2011, officers will conduct DWI saturations in Shelby and Monroe counties.  The goal of each of these selective traffic enforcement operations will be to detect impaired drivers and other hazardous moving violations that contribute to traffic crashes.

"Removing impaired drivers from our highways is a priority to the Missouri State Highway Patrol," stated Captain Wilt.  "We encourage motorist to report a possible intoxicated driver by calling 1-800-525-5555 or *55 on a cellular telephone."
