MACON, MO. -- The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released results of DWI saturations conducted in Adair and Sullivan Counties. Those results were released by Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B in Macon.
Enforcement operations were conducted from 10:00 p.m. on May 5th until 2:00 a.m. on May 6th and from 10:00 p.m. on May 6th until 2:00 a.m. on May 7th.
During the enforcement programs extra officers were assigned to patrol specific roadways with a focus of reducing fatalities and serious injuries caused by impaired drivers. As a result of the saturations, troopers made 14 arrests and issued 37 warnings.
The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operations:
2--Arrests for driving while intoxicated
3--Summonses for speed
3--Summonses for seat belt violations
1--Summons for a license violation
2--Arrests for person under 21 years of age possessing alcoholic beverages
2--Arrests for misdemeanor drug violations
1--Arrest for a misdemeanor criminal offense
"Removing intoxicated drivers from our highways is a top priority of the Missouri State Highway Patrol," stated Captain Wilt. "If your plans include partaking in alcoholic beverages, please be responsible and choose a sober designated driver."
