Centerville Police Chief Tom Demry says the charges stem from an investigation into the possession of child pornography by Mongar.

During the investigation, police executed a search warrant at Mongar's home on Elm Street in Centerville.

They recovered numerous images of children believed to be between the ages of five and sixteen engaged in sex acts.

Police seized computers, video and still images, printed material and other evidence from the home.

Demry says the investigation remains open and new charges may be filed.

Mongar remains in custody in the Appanoose County Jail with a bond set at $100,000.
