Fire destroys family home

ADAIR COUNTY, MO -- Update 5-8-11

The cause of the fire is still under investigation according to Adair County Fire Department.

The home belonged to Dan Sullivan.

4 dogs and 1 cat were killed in the blaze.

The fire broke out around 2:30 on Saturday afternoon and took roughly around an hour to put out.

The house is considered a total loss.

A Heartland family of four is left without a home.
    
Flames overtook a residence at 15682 Spring Creek in western  Adair county early Saturday afternoon.

The home is considered to be a total loss.
    
The North Central Missouri Chapter of the American Red Cross assisted the victims of this fire.
