Rollover crash injures three teens

NEAR BRASHEAR, MO. -- Three northeast Missouri teenagers were hurt late Tuesday afternoon in a rollover crash on Highway 6 four miles west of Brashear.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a car driven by John Wohlers, 16, of Kirksville ran off the right side of Highway 6, overcorrected, and returned to the roadway.

Wohlers then lost control, and the car skidded off the right side of the roadway and overturned, coming to rest on its top.

Two 16-year-old passengers, James Stribling of Brashear and Melvin Gibson of Kirksville were hurt.

Gibson and Wohlers had minor injuries.

Stribling received moderate injuries.

Wohlers and Stribling were taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center by ambulance for treatment.

Gibson refused treatment at the scene.

All three teens were wearing a seat belt.
