KIRKSVILLE, MO --
You wanted to know about the current lease status of the Cenveo company in Kirksville, and we have answers.
Cenveo, formerly known as Commercial Envelope, is in the Old Standard Register building on Industrial Road.
“The current lease with Cenveo has expired, there's been a six month extension that has been signed, the city council signed off on that and in the meantime we are talking with them about a number of different options on renewal on the lease,” said Phil Tate, Director of Job Creation.
Commercial Envelope was set up in Kirksville in 2004 by the Crystal family out of New York. It was bought out by corporate Cenvio about three and a half years ago.
The Kirksville plant currently employs 50 people, and pay above the county average, which is a little over 11 dollars an hour.
Tate says they have six printing machines and their future in Kirksville looks promising.
“The company of Cenveo has now purchased and bought out another envelope manufacturing division of a company Mead Westveco and so they now are one of, if not the very largest envelope manufacturer in the country,” Tate said.
Commercial Envelope was the first full project for Kirksville Regional Economic Development Inc, or K-REDI.
