OTTUMWA, IOWA -- The Ottumwa City Council met Tuesday evening to discuss renovations at City Hall.
The renovations were broken down into three bids: entrance reconstruction, insulating the attic, and gaining office light fixtures for the entrance. Out of the three bids, only the entrance reconstruction passed.
City Planner Dave Shafer says the other two bids totaled $34,697 and $54,783 respectively; and that they were not worth the cost.
"Based on the presentation and the discussion that we had with the council on April the 11th, the recommendation is to reject both bids."
The city sent bid packets to 14 contractors. The only contractor that replied was Bridge City Construction.
