Ottumwa man gets five years on drug charges

OTTUMWA, IOWA -- An Ottumwa man will spend the next five years in prison.

Gregory Allen Hawk was sentenced last week in Wapello County District Court.

Hawk pleaded guilty in december to a single marijuana distribution charge and a single charge of being a felon in possesion of a weapon.

According to court documents Hawk could be released early if he earns time for good conduct while in prison.

Hawk was originally arrested in April of 2010 by Ottumwa Police. He was originally charged two counts of marijuana delivery, one count of meth delivery and the weapons charge.

The additional charges were dismissed as a result of the plea.
