OTTUMWA,IOWA -- Organizers at Indian Hills were helping people save money on energy costs today at the second annual renewable energy and conservation for homeowners expo.
The event gave residents a look at ways to reduce costs on energy, and also gave alternatives with new products coming onto the market.
Several guest speakers were on hand to teach homeowners about renewable energy options currently available, such as wind and solar power.
Indian Hills Community College Bio-Development Director Chuck Crabtree says that investing in these products is a great way to save money.
"We all are aware of the energy costs going up. Anytime we can reduce our costs at hour homes and put more money in our pickets, it gives us a better opportunity to spend our money on other things," Crabtree said.
Organizers expected several hundred people to attend, giving away door prizes and holding drawings to bring the crowds in.
